Liverpool U18s defender Adam Lewis has committed his future to the club by signing a new professional contract at the Academy.

The 18-year-old, who in recent weeks has captained Steven Gerrard’s side in the absence of the injured Liam Coyle, penned an extension to continue an affiliation with the Reds that began at U6 level.

Lewis has been a regular at left-back this season as the U18s have navigated the first half of the league campaign without defeat. They currently hold a one-point lead at the top of the table.

He also played five times and scored once as Liverpool’s youngsters secured qualification from the group stage of the UEFA Youth League with a series of commanding performances.
