Liverpool FC were standout winners off the pitch at last night’s prestigious 2016 Sport Industry Asia awards held in Bangkok, Thailand, clinching one Gold and two Silver trophies.

The annual awards ceremony recognises and celebrates the achievements within the sporting industry in Asia, where the Reds have a huge following.

LFC's commercial partners Standard Chartered, MG China and Chaokoh coconut water were nominated for five campaigns and partnerships awards for their outstanding brand and activation work alongside the club.

Liverpool and main sponsor Standard Chartered Bank claimed two accolades, including Gold in the Best Sponsorship of a Sport, Team or Event of the Year category, and Silver for the Best Sports Marketing Campaign of the Year. The club, alongside partner MG China, also walked away with Silver in the Best Sports Brand, Retail Activation or Product Launch of the Year category.

Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at Liverpool FC, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our partners have won three prestigious awards thanks to their work with Liverpool FC. I am extremely proud that we have been recognised by the sports industry in Asia for our world-class partnership campaigns and activations."
