Liverpool FC has today submitted its planning application for the proposed redevelopment of its Academy site in Kirkby.

The submission of the application follows a public consultation with local residents, businesses and other stakeholders providing valuable feedback.

LFC's vision is to bring its first team and Academy football training operations and facilities together on one site. The application includes the development of a training campus for LFC along with enhancements to the existing community playing fields and facilities at the adjacent site on Simonswood Lane.

The document submitted to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council today applies for detailed planning permission for the overall proposal and outline planning for the new buildings on the LFC site.

The planning application is expected to be considered by the council's planning committee later this year.

If permission is granted, the developments would provide LFC with first-class combined training facilities and the local community with upgraded football pitches, new changing rooms and associated facilities including car parking, a new pedestrian and cycle pathway, lighting and improved security.

The club will continue to work closely with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to keep local residents and businesses updated on progress throughout the application process and any resultant development.
