Philippe Coutinho added another beauty to his collection of Liverpool goals on Sunday but insisted securing all three points against Bournemouth was the sweeter feeling.

The Brazilian dribbled his way through the Cherries defence and planted a finish past Asmir Begovic midway through the first half to hand his side a lead.

His sublime effort laid the foundation for a 4-0 victory as further goals from Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino ensured success for Jürgen Klopp’s men.

And it was the result rather than his goal that pleased Coutinho the most on the south coast.

“It was a nice goal but for me the most important thing is Liverpool getting better and winning games. We deserved it and we’re happy about the three points,” the No.10 told Sky Sports.

“Everyone enjoys playing [in this system]. The manager sometimes changes but everyone who is on the pitch gives his best – and that’s good for Liverpool.”
