Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Christian Pulisic, according to reports today.

The Reds made a bid for Pulisic last summer, only for Dortmund to insist they have no intention of selling the American winger.

The 18-year-old then signed a new contract with the German club in January, with Liverpool's hopes of signing him looking faint.

However Dortmund CEO Hans -Joacim Watzke this week admitted that Dortmund have too many attacking players, saying "something could happen" in the transfer market in the summer.

Pulisic has scored two goals in 17 games this season, but Dortmund also have Emre Mor, Ousmane Dembele, Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle, Alexander Isak, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Shinji Kagawa also on their books.

Pulisic is expected to be on Jurgen Klopp's shopping list this summer, along with Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt.
