Liverpool have offered a five-year contract worth £12.5 million to Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa, according to reports in France.

Foot Mercato claims that the 22-year-old is tempted by the offer but is hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s side can raise the yearly figure to £4m, which works out at £77,000 a week.

Liverpool remain in talks over a deal for the forward and it’s claimed that they could strike a deal for Atletico if they submit a bid in excess of £25m.

Correa, who is also capable of playing on the right flank, was primarily used as a back-up option by Diego Simeone last season, starting just 15 games in all competitions.

But the Argentine still managed to score eight goals and register eight assists.

Klopp has already secured the signing of Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and Mohamed Salah in a club-record £39m deal from Roma but the Liverpool manager is looking to bolster his attacking options even more.
