Liverpool are keen on RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to reports in Germany.

German publication BILD claim they are eyeing the France youngster.

The 18-year-old only joined Leipzig in January from Red Bull Salzburg.

And he has a new contract offer on the table from the Germans which would raise his buyout clause to €100m.

But Liverpool could still rest Leipzig’s resolve having agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita next summer.

Liverpool paid Keita’s buyout clause with an additional premium to make sure they could sign him next summer after interest from Barcelona.

Liverpool had wanted Keita in the summer just gone but the German side refused to sell.

And now they could have another decision to make if Liverpool go in for the defender.

Upamecano has been capped by France U19s and is expected to have a big future.
